| Once again, way too long since I've updated, and it's going to be a quick one at that.
CDO open and closed.. and I was really happy with the way it turned out. The Anything GOes model nearly killed me, but got done and looked decent, so that's good. Rehearsals for Tenor were lots of fun.. second dress tonight and opening on Friday-- opening means grandparents in town this weekend and the boyfriend next weekend!
One more year left of school and lots to accomplish in that amount of time--= advising on Thursday.. so we'll see how that goes... i know what i want to do, just a matter of if they will let me or not...
time for class..

| So I realized it's been near forever since I updated this, and supposed that I should post something for the people who check in on me via this blog.
Second semester of Junior year is underway. Moving forward more quickly some weeks than others. I feel like I have both a pleathera of time left here, and not nearly enough all in the same moment. Semester so far includes:
UGA Scene Shop: props for R and J, paint for CDO, build for Tenor Class: Art History, Advanced Voice, Lighting Design, Scene Painting, Voice Lesson, Intro to Design.. via correspondance History of Theatre, CAD I Acting: Grad directing Scene, rehearsals for Tenor Design: design for CDO Other: APO president, SAC secretary, Celebration of the Arts Stage Manager, Designing for a movie this summer, Designing for a capstone this semester
I think that's it, who knows. I'll also be building the model for Anything Goes.. working on the build for that in the scene shop.. and going to USITT over spring break.
This summer I'm headed back up to Peninsula Players as a production assistant.
That about sums it up for now. As always there's a lot floating around in my head-- I apologize in advance if I snap at you when you ask me any form of the question 'so what are you doing when you graduate'.
Enough distraction, back to homework...

| Alrighty so I figure it's about time for an update....
I was in Chicago for a little over a week and it was fantastic! Flew in New Year's Eve without any incident and proceeded to have one of the best New Year's in a long long time. Brian lives in Evanston, and we went to their First Night event.. saw a few different acts including Second City and watched an amazing fireworks display. Other Chicago doings included The Museum of Science and Industry, The Shedd Aquarium, The Field Museum, Lincoln Park Zoo, Nature Museum, seeing Blue Man Group as well as dinner at Brian's parents and hanging out with Penn Players from this summer. Saw several movies and sights in Chicago. Now Im back in Houston and wishing I was still in Chicago and not getting ready to start another semester worth of school.
Speaking of school...starts on Tuesday, and I have to get myself moved before then because I'm crazy and moving again. Oh well. Semester should prove to be interesting...lots to do, and lots I'm responsible for...
'Tis all for now. Keep your chin up and smile -Sarah | | |
| Just thought I'd put it out there that I'm alive and well and in Chicago visiting Brian. Christmas was good, finally got over being sick and then New Year's was amazing.
More later.

P.S. I SAW SHEA WHILE I WAS IN HOUSTON AND IT WAS AMAZING, THE BEST PART OF MY VACATION IN SUGAR LAND.... better?

| literally.... for whatever reason, whenever I come home for more than 3 days I get sick. Oh well....
The Land of Sugar has been as exciting as ever....Had coffee with Meaghan and caught up which was nice. Got to see August Rush with Tricia and Golden Compass with Gip... more movies than I've seen in a long time. Checked out Rice Village with my Mom-- they still have a 'five and dime' store, which had some amusing toys and what not. Went to lunch with my dad's office staff, which is always a hoot. Hung out with Laura, Sam and Catlin, and caught up with them. Lunch with JC and Catlin and all that jazz. Lots of sleeping and hanging around, plus cuddling with Nestle on the couch...typical xmas break so far.
Talking to friends who have gone off to different school's for college, and a majority of which are studying theatre, it was interesting to see who had done what. We're all asking each other the 'big' question.. what are you doing after school... and so few of us have any real answers. It's scary and we all just kind of laugh it off. I dont know where this is going, but reality is starting to set in and the next few years should be interesting.
